BioI am a mother first and foremost, and the most important things in my life are my family and friends.
I currently stay at home with my two children, two dogs, and (my husband's) three cats. My husband is a fantasy writer, so I am continually learning how to live harmoniously with a writer ;-) We live within 15 minutes of most of our immediate family (both sets of parents, all three of my brothers and my closest uncle), and we are quite happy with that arrangement.
My family originally hails from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and I have always felt that I am a yooper at heart. My family still has property there and our family congregates there every summer around the 4th of July. It is one of my favorite times of the year!
I have a Masters degree in clinical psychology and am going back to grad school to earn an MSW. My main therapeutic interests are family counseling, couple therapy, parent training, divorce mediation, and domestic violence issues. I am also interested in health psychology and rehabilitation, and cognitive therapy for anxiety and depression and anger control.
My livejournal seems to fixate largely on the goings-on of my kids and living with chronic pain.
